acute & chronic pain
whether you're dealing with a recent injury or long-standing discomfort, acupuncture helps reduce pain and inflammation while supporting your body’s natural healing processes.

fertility care
if you're just starting your journey or have been navigating the unknowns of IVF, acupuncture supports hormone balance, cycle regulation, and reduces stress. partner sessions are also available.

pregnancy support
acupuncture provides natural relief for pain, anxiety, nausea and sleep issues, helping you feel more balanced as your body changes—it can also help prepare your body (and mind) for labor and birth.

breech pregnancy
If your baby is in the breech position, acupuncture and moxa are a particularly effective combination. Meta analysis shows that using moxa at the point BL67 significantly increases the chances of baby turning head-down, especially when combined with acupuncture or postural support. It’s a gentle, time-tested approach backed by modern studies.

beyond the birth
your recovery matters. acupuncture supports healing, mood balance, lactation, and stress relief as you adjust to life with a new baby.
I also offer home visits for postpartum patients to make it easier for you to recieve the care you need when you need it the most. Email to schedule a postpartum home visit

I’m Renée Shankar, LA.c, DACM, a board-certified doctor of acupuncture and east asian medicine with specialized training in perinatal care. I use gentle, whole-person treatments to help you feel better in your body — whether you're healing pain, growing a family, or simply needing support.
I’m also a mama of two that I raise with my amazing husband. In my spare moments I seek out nature and as a former artist I'm finding my way back to blank pages whenever possible.
It’s an honor to share this medicine with you.
